Swift.....

So i'm sure that a great deal of you have seen the WWDC 2014 keynote address yesterday and heard of the new programming language Swift.

I want to know of your thoughts on it and if any of you have tried it.

So far my initial thoughts are great since this language truly is fun and highly expressive. The initial documentation on it is great and has allowed me to prototype some rudimentary app concepts in Xcode (which looks even better with the Yosemite UI).

Hopefully they incorporate Swift into Treehouse. If not, I'll try my best to adapt the iOS App Builds in the Swift language.

How is the Yosemite update?

I am afraid to do the beta because I am on a work computer.

It's really smooth man. I love the interplay between devices and the new Safari is great. I remember seeing a primitive rendering some kid made on Behance utilizing the iOS 7 design for Mac and it was a direct rip which lacked a sense of purpose for the mac. It felt like an oversized iPhone screen. But with Yosemite, the UI fits the purpose of being on a Mac device.

So Great UI, Smooth OS overall. I haven't witnessed any bugs yet. I do think that they have some room to clean and tighten up the UI but that will come by Public Beta and GM release in the Fall. So if you have a dev account, download it now.
