6,204 PointsSwift and the recent apple events
I'm currently on the iOS dev path now. I've been learning objective-c, but given the recent apple events....IS IT WORTH IT? For like 3 months I've been hearing that I should learn Objective-c first. It seems a little pointless.
What would you do in my situation? Also, treehouse will have swift development courses next week.
Any recommendations?
Also, do you think you should know HTML/CSS before you go into mobile dev?

7,710 PointsObjective-C has been around for quite some time and there is a more then few lines of legacy code that you might encounter in any new job. Also, lots of libraries are still written (and will be remain like that for some time) in Objective-C so the answer is YES, it is worth it. Objective -C is not retired just yet. Knowing it will broad your hire ability and your knowledge of the platform.
HTML and CSS are good to know but if I were you I would focus on Mobile if this is what you really want.
All the best.
