4,902 PointsSwift if statement: I think I know what I am doing, but the quiz does not agree.
The quiz question is :
You are provided with a constant array named months that contains 3 consecutive numbers starting at 1. Using a for-in loop and an if statement, print out "January" when you encounter a 1, "February" when you encounter a 2, and finally "March" when you encounter a 3
my code is
let months = [1, 2, 3]
for month in months{
if( month == 1)
{
println("Januaray")
}
else if( month == 2)
{
println("February")
}
else if( month == 3)
{
println("March")
}
}
The error reported is Bummer! You need to use an if statement.
Please note I used just if statements in stead of if else as noted above, with the same error.
What am I doing wrong?

15,719 PointsHi Brian,
It looks like you have "Januaray" when it should be "January". Also, Swift doesn't allow you to have parenthesis with your if statements.
let months = [1, 2, 3]
for month in months{
if month == 1
{
println("January")
}
else if month == 2
{
println("February")
}
else if month == 3
{
println("March")
}
}

4,902 PointsI guess the fact it was saying I am missing a if statement is what confused me.

15,719 PointsI am going to edit my original answer to reflect this, but Swift is evidently very picky with if statements. You cannot use parenthesis with your if statements. Once I changed that (and January of course), I passed the challenge.
