syntax error near unexpected token

treehouse:~/workspace$ help(print)
bash: syntax error near unexpected token `print'

Its lowercase, the parenthesis are there?

Hi Daniel,

If you’re trying to get help from the Python REPL, make sure you’re running the REPL first.

Try entering:

treehouse:~/workspace$ python

Or try entering python3 if python didn’t work.

Once you’ve done that and the REPL starts, then try help(print).

Not sure if that solves your problem, but hopefully it helps.
