PHP Integrating PHP with Databases Using Relational Tables Fetching Many Relationships

syntax error, unexpected ';' in index.php on line 12

Tried removing ";" and got a different error.

Perhaps I am missing something that needs to be done before or after the while loop.

Do not know what to do next.

index.php
<?php

include "helper.php";

/*
 * helper contains the following variables:
 * $item is an array that contains details about the library item
 * $results is a PDOstatement object with our genre results.
 */

 while($row = $results->fetch(PDO::FETCH_ASSOC) {
    $item[$genres["genre_id"]][] = $genres["genre"];
 }

The problem was a missing right parenthesis at the end of the while

Hi there,

You forgot the closing php tag ?> at the end of the code.

Added ?> to the end of the file and still get the unexpected ";" error.

Removed the ";" and get the error Bummer: syntax error, unexpected '?>' in index.php on line 15.

Something else must be wrong.

Could there be something wrong with the supplied helper.php file?

Is it possible I am not using an expected form of a variable name?
