General Discussion

Teamtreehouse forum design?

I'm bit curious on the design of this forum, never come across anything like it. And I must admit that I am not too fond of the functions and design so far, not user very friendly.

Can you elaborate? I really like the forums. The only function I wish they had was an option to pick multiple languages from the drop down so I can see questions for languages I know I can help in.

Example the 'markdown cheatsheet' is the only information on how to post links/codes/pictures on these forums? It it cluttered with text, not making much sense out of it.

Other forums have nice buttons for one to choose from to do things.

The search function could use more finesse, unless I missed something.

And would like to be able to see more threads when I search for something or go to for example 'general discussion'. The webpage shows up to 12 threads, want to be able to see more without scrolling. Regular forums for me have up to 26 threads visible.

Example http://www.sweclockers.com/forum/76-actionspel-och-shooters (mostly in Swedish but one can at least see the layout)

The majority of users here, and on most forums for training do not know how to categorize their questions. Further, similar to how they use workspaces to make it easy on people so they can begin coding right away, why make someone read all the rules for posting in different topics and then seeing their post "dissapear" etc. . .

You will need to elaborate on search as I am always able to find something I am looking for. Also, when you search more threads become visible on a page.

Lastly, the markdown cheatsheet has a lot of text to explain things and then shows how to post it. I have never had a problem expecially with the preview button in the bottom. I agree it could use some work but think maybe a language barrier is the biggest problem?
