Can you define what you mean by actual?
Treehouse mentions that they have a final exam, and I remember reading on the Tech degree information site before the beta launch that there was a certification attached to this...but whom recognizes this certification? Are they accredited by an educational body? These are questions that the community probably can't answer, and you should email Treehouse to ask more specific questions about the Techdegree: help@teamtreehouse.com

Fine question. The Techdegree does provide a certificate to students who earn them- it is a Treehouse endorsed certificate. Note, we are not an accredited education institution- however, our Techdegrees have been created by educators and developers in conjunction with the most commonly expected skills of a junior developer role a Techdegree graduate would typically qualify for.

Additionally, we're working with numerous organizations to not only have them utilize the Techdegree for internal training, but in doing so, teaching them the value of a Treehouse Techdegree certificate held by potential applicants/employees.

Ultimately, the coding skills obtained are the true goal and reward. We've already seen a lot of students experiencing success getting new tech jobs while being enrolled in a Techdegree program.
