I was looking stuff up about the techdegree and the programs they have on it is the programs that i can do on the $25/mo treehouse that i have. The only difference that i see is the final exam, the certification, and the 12 projects to add to your portfolio. Sense the treehouse techdegree is not associated with higher education accreditation is it really worth all the extra money?

1,463 PointsYesterday I went through the Swift 2.0 Track and the iOS Development TechDegree and wrote down all the differences. Here are the differences I found Swift Track: 25$ Monthly TechDegree: 599$ Monthly
Swift Track: 40 Hours TechDegree: 250 Hours (Ish)
Swift Track: 19 Classes/Workshops TechDegree: 36 Classes/Workshops
Swift Track: A few projects within the classes TechDegree: 12 Independent projects ranging from 8-20 hours (on average)
Swift Track: Community for help TechDegree: Slack Channel, Zoom mentorships twice a month, Treehouse Community
Swift Track: No certificate TechDegree: Certificate from Treehouse
Swift Track: No Final Exam TechDegree: Final Exam required for Certificate
You just have to decide for yourself if it's worth it. Sorry I have only compared the Swift 2.0 Track and the iOS Development TechDegree maybe I'll put some time into comparing some other degrees in the future. I hope this helps!

655 PointsYes thank you very much, i didn't know it came with all that extra stuff they should put that in the explanation of the program.

1,463 PointsNo problem, all of that information is on the TechDegree website. I wish they'd make a video talking about what the TechDegree program will be like if you sign up, spending an hour comparing tracks and degrees isn't something I'd like to do for every degree I'm considering haha.

28,693 PointsI think the cost may be the supervision. I think you're supposed to get one on one advise and feedback. (I'd verify try and get a read on how much feedback you get). The aim is to know the hell out of the subject area. However, it is expensive and new - so there's not a lot of people floating around to ask vis a vis their experiences.
