Terminal weird message on the top

everytime I use the terminal I see this message

"Last login: Mon Sep 1 10:11:08 on ttys000 You have mail.

I don't know what/who is ttys000, I might have set that while I was playing with the terminal. Also what's they "you have mail" message?

thanks in advance! :)

Hi don,

ttys000 is typical in OS X, it's not harmful in anyway and signifies that you have opened a new session in terminal, it might be a bit confusing but that user is your own account and isn't a sign that something harmful is in your system.

As for the email bit you can read about it here.
