1,535 PointsMarisa Zantey well if you're such a genius why don't you try solving this challenge thank you for doing nothing on this post but getting my hopes up that someone here might actually have a brain and help me solve it but then disappointing me again like every other person on this post as well. And for your information I couldn't care less about the stupid points I just want for this question to finally be answered
Colin Marshall
32,861 PointsI understand you are frustrated, but what makes you think that speaking to us like that is going to help get your question answered? People were giving you hints because they care that you learn the material. We now see that you just want the answer, so please be patient and it will get answered soon.
Also, please refrain from speaking to your peers like you have here. Putting down people that are trying to help you is disrespectful and rude, and will not be tolerated here.

You see, Emily, they do. That's exactly why they're not helping you. Just seeing the way you talk to others on here is reason enough to never donate time to you.
coder5837
1,535 PointsNico Giuliani I can see that you definitely have a brain, and judging from your credentials, you are able to help me. What is confusing to me is why everyone has the knowledge to help me, yet they feel the need to not help me.
Colin Marshall
32,861 PointsFirst off Emily, you were demanding the answer and being rude to people that were trying to help you by providing hints. What are you going to do in the real world when you have a job as a coder and you get stuck? Who are you going to demand the answer from when you are supposed to be the one to figure it out? You can't yell at people and expect them to want to help you, or expect to still have a job after doing so. It doesn't work like that here, and it certainly doesn't work like that in the real world.
coder5837
1,535 PointsColin Marshall First off, I am very sorry if I personally offended you. Second, thank you for exposing to me what I was really doing. I am normally very blatant and now I understand that this can really hurt people. I understand now and I will try to improve on thinking about what I say before I say it. :)
Colin Marshall
32,861 PointsI'm glad we were able to get through to you. I understand it's frustrating, but please don't take out your frustration on others here. Your apologies should not be directed towards me, but instead towards your peers, like Marisa Zantey, who you disrespected when she was doing her best to help you out.

57,712 PointsEmily,
I read your initial post - indeed, you asked me to provide an answer to it - and have commented on another post on the same problem.
I've not done that course so am not able to help. However, I have some free time tomorrow so I will work through the course and give you a shout when I've done that. Hopefully, I'll be able to give you the code you need to get through the last challenge.
That's the best I can do right now. I did tag a tutor and some other Mods in one of your other posts; maybe they'll be able to assist before I finish the course.
Steve.

1,535 PointsI am done with waiting I don't want a maybe tomorrow or I might have the answer I am absolutely done and all I want is the answer

57,712 PointsSorry Emily, I can't do what I don't know. I'll get up to speed as soon as I can, indeed, I'm listening to Craig Dennis right now.
Being a moderator on here is just something I do in my spare time. I have a day job that I have to do first - then I help out where I can on these Community pages. I'll have you an answer as soon as I can work through the course. If a teacher, or anyone else who knows the answer, can help before that, then great. But I can't do this any quicker, I'm afraid.
Steve.

Treehouse TeacherThank you for the ping Steve Hunter ! I am on it!

57,712 PointsThanks Craig Dennis - I can see the other thread is going through the challenge to get to the bottom of this.

28,149 PointsI don't know anything about Java, so I'm of no help, but I know things can be quiet frustrating when you're learning something new. I would suggest leaving whatever track you are on for a few days, let things cool down, and look at it again with a clear head. Try something else in the meantime.
We all get that way, I know I get frustrated too, and I have to walk away for a few days because I'm so frustrated I become blinded to the problem, and can find no solution when I feel that way.
Also, keep in mind the forms, or any forum, stack overflow included is not a magic pill for answers. It's one of the reasons coding is so hard. It's a high effort low reward skill to start. It's frustrating as you put in a lot of effort to struggle to build the most basic stuff.
But after awhile, if you stick with it, the tides turn and it becomes a low effort, high reward skill as you learn to develop advanced stuff with minimal effort as you know the language so well.
Good luck, and I hope you find the solutions you're looking for.

1,535 Pointswell thanks for getting my hopes up that you had an answer and then disappointing me

28,149 PointsI know you're frustrated, but you're coming off as being very demanding, rude, and ungrateful, which might be part of the problem. People like helping grateful people.

You're saying all this to a 13-year-old?? That's the thing, Emily. You never know who you're talking to online. I know you are frustrated, but do try refraining from being rude. It gets you nothing but a bad reputation.
Now, about your code challenge. I only know HTML and CSS, and I haven't yet done JavaScript, so I can't help you- although some other family members are incredibly good (My dad knows heaps... Ruby, PhP, Java, Python, CSS, HTML... basically everything. He codes for his job, and has been doing so for a long time). Although honestly, at this point I'm quite happy to say, have fun working out that code challenge :D
coder5837
1,535 Pointshaha I'm really sorry I honestly didn't know I was being so mean my parents always tell me I am way too blatant and don't worry I will improve on that! I truly am sorry :)
Marisa Zantey
2,053 PointsThat's alright :) I've already forgiven you anyway. There's always an underlying answer to things, even if we may not know it from first glance. It can be really easy to get mad or upset, especially online.
I hope you've figured out that code challenge!! If you're still stuck, review your last few videos since the previous code challenge. (It always works for me!! But sometimes I'm lazy and just open another tab to search it on Google :P)
Good luck :)

2,053 Points...Well, wow. I mean, Treehouse wouldn't just give away points... you've gotta earn them via the challenges and quizzes. It's more fun that way, anyway. Sometimes even slight errors can make the code challenges not work, or if you do something it didn't ask- you literally need to do exactly as it says.
As for the forums, I tend to find if you put as much detail as you can into your questions when you ask for help, it makes it easier for people to answer, therefore allowing more people to be able to answer. Your questions will be answered quicker that way, but it takes time anyway. :)
