The changes I make in the index are not showing in the preview after i save and refresh. Help!!

Not seeing the changes after many saves & refreshes.

Same here, after a while I realised you gave to refresh. cmd + r

Just for the heck of it, try a hard refresh with ctrl shift r. If that fails, try a different browser.

I am running on a MAC. If that makes a difference. And that Also is not working. Do i need to Make a new folder for this instead of just a new file ?

I was running preview on Crome and nothing worked. I saved it, refresh it, cleared browser history. Finally i deleted index.html - opened new one and copied the code. Now it works perfectly fine. I even do not have to refresh it. I guess there is some internal error.
