The forum needs to be broken up into categories instead of one endless feed.

Having one endless wall of threads is really annoying. Could you guys please make the forum more normal.

Most forums are broken up into sections.

Javascript forum Python forum PHP forum ...etc

Hi Rhett,

have a look at the top right of the forum list.

There you can choose any topic you want only to be listed. And you can also choose "newest", "unanswered", "my posts" and more.

I think you have just not realized the function you wish for already exists. ;-)

Happy coding, Nils

I'd still rather have a normal forum. 99% of forums are broken up into sections. You would think Treehouse would know something about UX.

Sorry brother, but I have not seen a better UX design as here at treehouse. I really find the user experience here amazing and motivating. Can't understand you at all in this point.

Well, I would have to disagree. How many forums out there are broken up into sections versus one massive feed? I think there's a reason for that.

Well, if you do not use the functions build in I do not get your point. You can have a list of only all PHP, Python or whatever threads you want with one click.

In other forums you also have to click for the type of forum you want to get into.

Anyhow, if you do not like it I respect your opinion. But me personally I just find the whole design and functionality both beautiful and practical.

Yes, its personal preference. I don't want to look at a massive wall of threads that are unorganized. I want to log on and see organization not chaos. I should not have to use a filter to experience order. The vast majority of online forums are organized, this one is not.

I know other forums. And I do not find this one to be unorganized. Not at all.

But as you said, it's personal preference. I doubt any forum will be able to satisfy every ones wishes.

Having said that, it's good you state your opinion and feeling how you perceive it. Always good for a company to get feedback.

Hi Rhett Moxon

I also actually find the format of the Treehouse Forum one of the best and most organized. It's very easy to follow, navigate and read, unlike many others I've seen.
Here on Treehouse, I feel the Community Forum is as much a teaching and learning tool as a question-and-answer tool. Much of the Treehouse Community will scroll and see the different subjects, topics, problems, etc being discussed and put forth to the Community, which I find is best facilitated by a single stream of all threads.
It's been my experience within the Community that many learn a great deal by just visiting the Forum and perusing the varying topics. Even today, I find I end up coming across something interesting or across something I didn't realize I could probably understand even better. I have learned a great deal from just the Treehouse Forum, far more than any other one.

But, as Nils Kriedner points out, there will be varying opinions. When all topics don't suit your needs, or you are looking for something specific, Treehouse offers the ability to sort and filter as you deem fit for your needs.
