Java

The label's text is not changing in a right way.

Hello!

show.setOnAction(e -> { number = (int) (Math.random() * multiplier); numberAsString = number.toString(); label.setText(numberAsString); try { Thread.sleep(1000); } catch (InterruptedException e1) { e1.printStackTrace(); } label.setText("------"); });

I want to change a label's text to a numberAsString then wait 1000 milis and change label's text to "------". But when the button is clicked nothing happens for a second and then label's text is changing to "------". How can I solve this problem?
