the line 'mkdir -p spec/features/todo_lists' gives me an error in windows command prompt which is 'the syntax of the command is incorrect' is there a fix for this ?

Try removing the '-p' as well as changing all of the '/' with '\'. Should look like 'mkdir spec\features\todo_lists'
