PHP Drupal Basics Site Building with the Drupal Interface Creating Content

The localhost page isn’t working localhost is currently unable to handle this request. HTTP ERROR 500?

Whenever i click on "basic page" in order to add content, i receive this message. Not sure what I would need to fix on the server end.
