The localwp.com link routes to localhost:8888 and not /localwp directory?! Any ideas on how to fix this??

Whilst setting up Sites folder and MAMP Apache, I've redirected the MAMP server to the Sites folder. When view the URL localhost:80 I get the following -

Index of /

localwp.com/ platinumdigital.co.uk/ test-site-treehouse/

When I try to connect to the link localwp.com/ (holds default wordpress files) it takes me to localhost:8888 where I find a blank page and no set up prompts for wordpress.

Any help would be greatly appreciated?!

Thanks, NB
