The "official teamtreehouse widget" plugin doesnt show on front-page.php

I installed the "official teamtreehouse widget" plugin on my personal website. It works fine if i add the shortcode on a blog post page, but I would like to show it on my front-page.php. So, I created a new widget area in functions.php, added the code in my front-page.php to show the widget and added, in the admin area the plugin in the widget area. What I see at the end of this process is a broken link to an image.
