JavaScript Regular Expressions in JavaScript Reformatting User Input A Better Telephone Number Validator

The regex used in the video is not working in any regex site.

I used this code and it didn't worked in the regexpal webpage.

^\D*\d{3}\D*\d{3}\D*\d{4}\D*$ \

It didn't show any type of coincidence as showed in the video.

There's a few issues or potential issues:

  • you have an extra "\D*" term near the end that the video does not have
  • you seem to have an extra "\" at the end
  • you might not have the "multiline" flag turned on at regexpal
