the value assigned to the "title" key is not being accepted

I tried a number of times. But it's not working. Interchanged with double/single quotes, nothing is working

index.php
<?php
$movie[]=[
'title'=> 'The Empire Strikes Back',
];

?>
<h1>Back to the Future (1985)</h1>

<table>
  <tr>
    <th>Director</th>
    <td>Robert Zemeckis</td>
  </tr>
  <tr>
    <th>IMDB Rating</th>
    <td>8.5</td>
  </tr>
  <tr>
    <th>IMDB Ranking</th>
    <td>53</td>
  </tr>
</table>

Right now you are saving your array, into an array instead of just creating an array. Either remove the [] in the variable name or access the title attribute with $movie[0]['title'] since the array in your code up there gets written into an empty array first.

// Creates $movie['title'];

$movie = ['title' => 'The empire strikes back'];

// Creates $movie[0]['title'];

$movie[] = ['title' => 'The empire strikes back'];

Thanks for reaching out. So, your first example creates only an associative array. And the second one creates a multidimensional array and inside an associative. Is my understanding correct?
