CSS CSS Layout Techniques Display Modes Block vs. Inline Elements

The video talks about a default spacing for inline li elements that I cannot reproduce in chrome? Is this issue fixed?

I was actually shocked that the li elements supposedly act differently depending on whether there was a carriage return in the html so tried to test it. Could not reproduce with latest chrome.

Lol. I'd like to know too! That would be surprising, because I did the same only two weeks ago, and sure enough the whitespace was there.

Has no one offered a solution to how Chrome handles the li element, yet? I'd like to follow this video as it was intended.
