This is quite confusing for me, can someone explain it in more detail, I don't understand.

If I had a list and I wanted to turn it into a string by combining each value together with a specified separator.

What method would I use?

You would want a method that would put a specified string between each item and return the whole thing as a string. So str.join() might be a good choice. Click the name for the documentation page.
