12,035 Pointstitle tag in html..
So I thought i'd have a go at making a little website after learning at treehouse. It's really basic put it's done purely for practice. I'm using notepad++ as my editor and I've come across my first problem. Basically I've put a <title> in my <head> tag and the title I've wrote is coming up on the browser screen however I'm pretty sure the title is meant to show up in the browser tab and on search engines not the actual page....

17,365 Pointstroy beckett, When I first started web development a few years ago I was a bit confused also. "Title" is actually a tag for you page titles and an attribute for an element. I rarely use the title attribute anyway since users often can't see where the additional information is hidden at (unless you use CSS), but I use to for <abbr> all the time. Here is a link to the W3C's website regarding title attributes. http://www.w3schools.com/tags/att_global_title.asp
