Development Tools Git Basics Getting Started With Git Working With Git Repositories

To create a repository, I am having an issue with the terminal window entering this command for a Mac

$ git init_my_first_repository

Message: git: 'init_my_first_repository' is not a git command. See 'git --help'.

Assuming "my_first_repository" is your project name what you're actually looking for is:

git init my_first_repository

The "init" is the command you're sending git.
