To start the iOS app development track do I need a mac?

I have a very keen interest in starting the iOS development app track, but as I got through it I quickly found I needed to download xcode, which is only available on the mac app store. Is there an alternative software package I can use or do I need a mac? :(

Unfortunately, to build a native iOS app you would need Xcode, which is only available on a Mac.

You can run xcode on a windows pc with virtualization software like VMWare or open source alternative VirtualBox. Good Luck!
