Track

Hi There

I am new to Treehouse, and have been following the first track, how to build a simple website. instead of working on the project 'smells like baking" I have been working on some of my own work, to help me better understand. I have reached the end of styling, and have been directed to launching the website, however feel like I might be missing a vital step in the process, as it stands the website i have built is just one page, buttons arent clicking anywhere, and the nav bar doesnt take you anywhere else. Can some one advise whether because have been working on my own project, that tracks arent unlocking for me.

Any help warmly received.

Hi & welcome! I think the terminology used may be causing some confusion. 'build a simple website' is not a track it is a project that is part of the web design track. A track is made up of projects and deep dives.

If i recall correctly on the site you build in the 'build a simple website' project the navigation and buttons wont work because they are not linked to anything. This is deliberate but adding links to these elements will be covered in the html deep dive section.

So you've not missed anything thankfully!

I would suggest completing the 'launching your website' section of 'build a simple website' then move on to the html deep dive then css foundations deep dive and just work your way through the rest of the web design track. You can complete a track in any order you wish but this way you should cover most of the basics before moving on to more advanced topics.

Hope this helps!
