Track Guidance

I am an entrepreneur and new to coding. I have a lot of ideas that I want to start programming. One of the first ones is related to accounting, source documents, bank feeds, credit card feeds, and tax returns. I am new to coding and need guidance on what track(s) would be best for me. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Steven,

Any web developer should have a basic understanding of HTML CSS and JS so to get going I would highly reccomend the track below.

https://teamtreehouse.com/tracks/front-end-web-development

This will build up all the core skills needed to interact with the front end of a site. Even if you move into more of the programming side of things this knowledge alone will help you understand how things need presenting to the browser and much more.

The next part of the learning comes down to the nitty gritty of what you what to accomplish. Particular languages are better at certain things than others. The best piece of advice I could give at this point is to research the details of what you want to make. This will then point you to the langues you need.

Realistically it is going to be, PHP, Python or Ruby.

Hope this gets you going. Craig

Thanks for your feedback.

There are so many choices!

A lot of people start with the digital literacy/built a website tracks, to get an introduction to coding.

But if you would want to dive in right into the track that would get your projects off the ground, that would be harder to choose. You'd have to do some research on which language would be right for you and your projects. Do you wan to make them web based? Mobile based? Both?

Thank you for the feedback. I want to create both. Just not sure where to start.
