Treehouse course improvement suggestion

Hi all i have a suggest for you awesome guys working hard and providing great content at treehouse.

I think maybe adding a separate project file with a design mockup or even just the assets would help us tremendously. Sometimes it can feel passive copying from videos bur providing us with a project we should complete as extra credit with a spec like a client would help develop our skills i think. Allowing us to know how to solve different problems with the things we've learnt.

Just a suggestion i think this could really benefit us.

Nice thought. One of the issues is always "what do I do now?" after we watch a video. The correct answer is always 'build something', this idea can help with that next step if ya don't have a clue what to build.

Exactly even a PSD with a mockup can help people get out of that mindset

Hi Tunde. Yes, I agree with what you have written. These projects to practice the skills would allowe me to get more into the topics. For example I have just finished the Javascript course, but I do not want to progress to JQuery. I still feel I need to learn more about Javascript because what is here seems to be just the basics. The same has happened with HTML and CSS. Now knowing the basics of these three, should I go to other sites to find more learning material? As I do not want to start another course here to get overwhelmed and having my fingers in too many pies, paying the Treehouse membership does not seem to bring me enough value - for the time being. Hopefully they will come up with something for us! The Treehouse way of teaching/learning is awesome.

Yes i've got out of that loop i would just learn other stuff but never really apply it too anything recently i've been doing some freelancing work i would suggest the same to you odesk is great you can build simple sites and specify your a beginner so you can do projects for a decent amount of money
