Treehouse Home Page issue

Hi there,

When I go to my home page it shows my recommended courses for "today". In this case, I've completed those yesterday but that's not the issue here - I assume your update time isn't user-based.

Underneath my recommended courses is a "Keep Going" button.

That, I would hope, would take me to the next course in the track I'm working through. I'm covering off the Java track at the moment but when I click the link, I get Pasan talking to me about Swift 2.0!

This may be because that's the next course listed below my recommended steps I don't know - but it doesn't seem to work correctly.

Could it be that Swift 2.0 is the latest course that you were working on? As in, after you did those recommended steps, you spent a little bit of time in Swift 2.0? In either case, that's definitely misleading. Shoot away a mail to help@teamtreehouse.com to let the team know! Or maybe I can just tag Rob Allessi?

No, I've dipped in & out of that course just to help people out in the Community pages but I've not taken it - I was committed to the Java track at the time.

I did email the help guys just to flag it.

Seems odd but I'm sure they'll get to the bottom of it!

Steve Hunter thanks for sharing this with us. We'll take a close look and hopefully we can quickly identify what is causing this. :)

Thank you - I received an email from Kara a moment ago; I'm just replying to that now.

Steve Hunter spoke with our devs and this does appear to be bugged. It's being investigated. I'm really sorry about that! We'll get to the bottom of it.

Hey - no problem ... just pointing out a small issue.

Hey Steve Hunter!

Thanks for pointing this out. This isn't technically a bug, but I can totally see how this was confusing and a bad experience. You had the perfect storm of circumstances in this case:

First, we regenerate suggestions that appear on Home for everyone at 11am GMT (which is the middle of the night in North America). This can obviously lead to scenarios in which folks in Europe do their suggested work, go to bed, wake up the next day, and Home hasn't updated. That stinks. We'll fix this pronto.

You finished a Track yesterday and returned today without a fresh suggestion, so that "Keep Going" button made less sense than it normally would in the context of a single day. You're right that it defaults, if you're no longer on a Track, to your most recently worked on incomplete course, which also isn't very useful when you've just completed a Track and should be out celebrating. :confetti_ball:

All this said, we have some super secret changes to Home in private beta right now that'll resolve this issue. Stay tuned. :neckbeard:

Thanks for being an awesome student, and congratulations on the Track!

Cool - thanks for the info. I look forward to the new stuff getting released. :-)
