hey! I am playing around and building myself a little website that I am sure will one day go online. When it does I would like to make reference to team treehouse basically saying that I use the site to learn on a daily basis! will I be okay to use the logo or could this get me in some kind of trouble with licencing and stuff?

You'd be using the logo as a reference to the site specifically. It would be the same as using their logo to link to their website. Where you'd get yourself into trouble is if you used the Treehouse logo as your own logo on your site or made it seem that it was your logo or your design.
If you have any major concerns however you might want to contact help@teamtreehouse.com for confirmation.

You can use this referral link for that purpose. You'll get like 20% off your monthly membership per successful referral. Other than that, Tim Knight is right; as long as you're not claiming or implying that you are affiliated with Treehouse, you should be fine.
Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice. I am also not affiliated with Treehouse, in any capacity, so this should not be construed as written permission to do anything. Your best bet is to email Treehouse Support if you have any more questions.

14,268 PointsThey link to a Press Kit on the about page which says "This kit contains a PDF and various logos and image assets for you to use to promote Treehouse." So it seems like they would be OK with what you're planning to do.

But like the other guys said, if you're overly worried it would be best to contact the Treehouse team.
