Treehouse pop up video?

Maybe this has been covered already and I overlooked it, but are there any plans to add a pop up option for videos? I would love to be able to have the video lessons by itself on top of my work instead of doing the split screen windows thing.

Just curious.

Thanks! ~Jason

Hey Jason,

I don't think we're working on this feature, but I'll ask our dev team to respond.

Hey Jason,

This idea hasn't ever been discussed before internally, but it sounds interesting. How would popping out a video help you?

Hi Nick, thanks for your reply!

Speaking for myself, the way I personally prefer working is to have my IDE, Xcode, etc. in full screen mode to avoid any distractions. When viewing the video lessons on Treehouse, I am unable to do this, but would prefer to, maybe with the stand alone video in the corner of my screen.

Sometimes, I've seen video players offer an option for the video to play separate from the rest of the website. Again this just speaks to how I prefer getting my work done, but if this option was available (along with the other option to always keep the video window in front), I feel like it would help my workflow.

Does that make sense?

Hi Jason,

I see your point! :) We don't offer this feature right now, but one thing you could do is download the videos and then play them back in the video player of your choice. Would that be a good solution?

Settings option? Shouldn't be the end of the world to implement, and only requires a few HTML attribute changes, right?

Oh yeah Nick, that works fine, thanks!
