Treehouse Show ending

I've really enjoyed the show and gained quite a bit from following it.

And, sadly, this isn't just a forum thread for the sake of praising the show. I'm wondering why it's stopping.

Can anyone fill me in on this? Treehouse people, show yourselves! Hehe.

On the blog a video was posted announcing the ending of the show, sounds like Nick and Jason wanted to focus more on coursework with the company (I predict this will mean more Web Design/HTML and Ruby courses in the future). I'm curious to know if a different form of the Treehouse show was in development. I think many can say it was a valuable source of topical information -- a very different format (actual, produced video) than the standard "roundup" posts or email -- and would love to see some form of the content to surface in it's place.

Would love to hear from some treehouse employees if they can comment.

+1

It was a great and unique resource, so some form of replacement would be nice. Heck, if it's basically just a weekly list of "here are articles/plugins/etc that are worth noting" it would probably be enough for most people.

That said more coursework from Jason and Nick would obviously be appreciated too!

I don't know why it's ending, but I will say, they had some vary good stuff on there.

It might sound crazy but what if some of us Treehouse students did something?

Nice idea, but it wouldn't be the same without Nick and Jason. :)

True...

Yea totally bummed!

I learned heaps of random stuff on their show. And their rivalry was so entertaining! So much pun-tasticness. I could never decide who's side I was on haha

Is there going to be something similar coming out?? Nick Pettit Jason Seifer

Hey everyone,

Jason and I decided to end The Treehouse Show so we could spend more time focusing on Treehouse courses. Jason is working hard to create new Ruby courses and I have many courses coming up that require my complete focus; and that's not going to change. It takes a tremendous amount of time and mental energy to produce new courses and new episodes of The Treehouse Show, so we decided that Treehouse would be better served if we didn't split our attention.

We had a ton of fun producing the show and we're thankful for everyone that's watched! We'd continue if we could, but it's time for us to refocus.

Thanks for the reply, and everything you've done so far on the show is deeply appreciated!

I, for one, would still like to know if there's any ideas of a replacement for the show in the works or similar.

Oh, and I believe that focusing on the courses will over all give the biggest benefit to all the users as the old episodes of the show is prone to getting buried in an archive while courses are added to tracks and the like.

@Niclas Valentiner: There are no plans for a replacement show at this time.

I appreciate that Nick, Thanks.

A shame but once again thanks for the reply.

Keep doing what you do, it's good and very educational!

You da man Nick :-D Appreciate all your efforts! And Cheeky silences haha

Love your work.
