Treehouse sponsoring SassConf + Ticket for a Treehouse Student!

Hi everyone!

We're excited to announce that we'll be sponsoring the upcoming SassConf on October 12th/13th at Schoolastic Auditorium, NYC.

SassConf is a two day conference devoted to modern front-end development. The awesome peeps over at Sass Conf have also been generous and offered a ticket (worth $475) to a member of the Treehouse community!

If you're interested, tell us why you'd like to attend SassConf in the comments below. We'll announce the winner on Friday at 12pm EST. :)

I live in NYC and I'd love to go.

Last year (after graduating college), I co-founded a startup as the non-tech guy. Luckily, because of Treehouse, I was able to learn how to program after trying (and failing) for many years before that.

I'm now at the point where I'm refining my skills and I'm primarily trying to refine two things, SASS & Ruby, so being able to go this conference would be awesome.

Currently, I do freelance/consulting work to pay the bills and invest into my startup. I'd love to go to conferences but they are often cost-prohibitive.

I also have a beard.

Hi Faye and Team Treehouse :D

SassConf sounds like an incredible front-end development conference! I would love to go to this awesome event.

I have a passion for learning from Treehouse and attending this event would push my skills acquired from Treehouse even further, forming a deeper understanding of web design and development. The experience from this conference will help my future web design clients as well as my design students. In my class I have become the expert on all things web and I love explaining the web to design students. Treehouse and my side projects have helped in this aspect, and those coupled with attending a few conferences would be a huge help.

I want to go to SassConf SO BADLY! I'm a front end development student and I am REALLY interested in learning about how to improve my coding abilities. I always use Sass in my work, and I know I could use it SO much more effectively. There's so much to learn about it! And the more we know, the more we can develop really cool projects like any of the one's on Scott Kellum's codepen (I've totally been stalking it, it's fine.). I want to do things like this! I definitely have visual ideas, and love the challenge of learning how to implement them most efficiently using code.

The more I learn about Sass, the more excited I become about it. It's magical. I've been trying to document fun code bits as I discover them on my blog (blog.unakravets.com), like Sass @each loops (In fact, I try to do a segement called "Sass Snippets" which is a mix of Compass and Sass). I promise to document whatever I learn at Sass Conf!

The speaker list looks incredible. I want to learn to better integrate CSS animations and use Foundation and use functions and lists. Seriously, I won't take this for granted. PLEASE pick me! (please!) :)

Ooooh. My eyes!

What the hell is this website? sassconf.com?

The worst coloring I've ever seen.

I'm in Iran so the ticket wouldn't help!

I'd love to attend SassConf. I'm a recent grad and newcomer to the design and dev community, living in NYC. I taught myself how to code eleven years ago, but it wasn't until Treehouse that I was able to receive a more "formal" education about standard front-end development practices. I've loved going through the lessons and it's helped me become a better developer (and realize I've been doing some things the wrong way this whole time...woops). As a designer and a developer, I love that Sass allows for a more efficient design process (prototyping in the browser ftw) and would love to learn more from the community that built it. I'm also a newbie to the overall design+dev community and think this conference might be a great first introduction - right on the bleeding edge of front-end technology. Some of my heroes in the industry will be there (especially the ladies like Jackie Balzer and Jina Bolton!) so it'd be great to rub elbows with them!

Hi there!

I live in CT, and I'd love to attend SassConf. I've been a member of Treehouse for a few months now, and I'm slowly working my way to an entry level full-stack web developer. I'd love to learn more about Sass, as I do not know very much at this time. I'm taking a back-end RoR web development course starting in mid-October, so any front-end knowledge I can attain on my own would be awesome. Also it's a great networking opportunity, obviously!

Plus.. Mike the Frog really likes me. I can tell by the unblinking way he gazes into my eyes. I'm pretty sure he'd want me to go to SassConf!

Good luck to everyone else, too!
