Trouble referencing HTML button id in JS

There is a variable let=button in the JS which must reference to button element in the HTML by id which is 'sayPhrase'

What is wrong with my following code?

javascript let button=document.getElementByID('sayPhrase');

js/app.js 
let button=document.getElementByID('sayPhrase');
let input;

button.addEventListener('click', () => {
  alert(input.value);
});
