Is it possible to have two background images on top of each over with the very top having an opacity so that you can see the second image coming through. I know you can do this with an image and rgb color but what about two images???

18,266 PointsThis can be done by stacking two elements and setting different background images for each one. Have a look at a quick fiddle I made.
