Types of PC? Imac? etc..

Hi,

So im just wondering , how is this?

PC stands for Personal Computer.
Windows is from Microsoft . Its a PC.
iMac is from Apple . Its called macintosh but its aslwo a Personal Computer right?

No, Windows is an opperating system that runs on a perticular type of PC. It used to be known as the IBM PC. Because IBM designed the first versions. But IBM has since abandoned the line and it's now known as the ISA (Industry Standard Architechure). But, no one really ever calls it that. And IBM PCs could run several different OSs. There also were many other models of PCs besides the "IBM PC" and the Apple Mac. There was the TRS-80, Apple ][, Comadore PET, Amiga, Radio Shack CoCo, and too many more to list.

A PC just simply means Personal Computer, so if it's a computer, technically, you can call it a PC. You could also, technically, call mobile phones, tablets, watches, etc. personal computers now because they are your personal item and they are used to compute things via programs. Most people, however, when they think of PC think of machines that run Windows/Linux, but it's up to you, Konrad! :)

Well, in that case, im going to call PC for anything, if its iMac or windows . :) Since PC stands for Personal Computer . I mean a Computer is a machine right ? iMac is a machine . It has Personal data translating it to Personal Computer because we humans gaved this machine a name that is Computer and it srotes our personal info so its a PC Personal Computer . iMac or Windows its just a name , a system name or kind of personal name , a brand fro Apple and operating system of iOS. Microsoft for windows.

But yeah, ppl says that pc are for windows and iMacs are iMacs. And to add to that people dont know that iMac, airbook , Apple and the Watches are the same
coz they come by Apple. Like what , most people are just consumers in 100% xd new feature for iPhone that costs £50 and ppl upgrade it . While in 6 months you get a brand new iPhone for £500 with little technolgy upgraded. Like adobe, but well thats the business. :)

Pretty much everything is a PC nowadays haha So, I agree, call anything that computes something a PC since you won't ever technically be wrong! haha

I don't know why people have to constantly be upgrading. I think it's a part of the lifestyle of modern society. We always have to have the latest in everything. The computer I'm using is several years old but still does its job quite well! I am not one of those types who has to upgrade all the time haha
