CSS

Unable to submit answer (i get the same error regardless of what i submit)

I am unable to successfully submit a question on a code challenge.

When I submit my answer, the error returned is never satisfied.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Be on question 1 of 5 from quiz (linked below)
  2. Add correct CSS
  3. get error about font size not being 0.9em
  4. Double check that i am indeed setting the font size to 0.9em
  5. Submit
  6. Get same error
  7. Google a shit load about font-size and "em's"
  8. Re submit
  9. Get same error
  10. Submit 47 other variations
  11. Post here

The question from the test

Challenge Task 1 of 5

Select the unordered list with the class contact-info and set the font size to 0.9em. Then, remove all margin, padding, and list styling.

My Answer:

.contact-info ul {
    font-size: 0.9em;
    margin: 0;
    padding: 0;
    list-style: none;
}

The bummer:

Bummer! Be sure to set the font size to 0.9em.

I REALLY hope i am not just missing some syntax and am in fact... incorrect.

You were close, but missed it just a wee bit. Don't feel bad ... I've done the same exact thing.

Your CSS code was trying to select the unordered list within the element that contains the class "contact-info", but what they want you to do is to select the unordered list with the class "contact-info". The CSS selector for that looks like this:

ul.contact-info {
    font-size: 0.9em;
    margin: 0;
    padding: 0;
    list-style: none;
}

Ahhhhhhh THANK YOU

It appears i may have been mislead by the error pointing to the 0.9em being the wrong value.

it looks like I need to take the errors a little less literally :)

Looks like I also got a debugging lesson.

Thanks for the explanation Roy!

Made the same mistake over here and found this post.

You're welcome. Glad it helped.

Thanks for explanation Roy! Made the same mistake :)!
