Unable to write this code

Create a function named square. It should define a single parameter named number. In the body of the function return the square of the value passed in.

squaring.py 
def square(number):
    number = digit
    result = (digit * digit)
    print(result)

digit = 5

Hi Muhammed,

You've made a good start with your function definition. But you're not using the return keyword. But when you do, you're using the digit variable which is redundant. All you need to do is multiply the number variable by itself. Remember, number is the variable you passed in as a parameter.

Then, in the next part, instead of using digit variable, you need to call the function. That is how the number variable receives the actual value.

Call the function like this

square(5);
