Understanding ${}

Hello to everyone that is reading this,

I am a beginner learning how to use Spring Framework, I am having trouble understanding the usage for an example ${gif.username} how does it know which image carries which information/data. Example : new Gif("infinite-andrew", LocalDate.of(2015,8,23), "Marissa Mayer", true)

Could someone make me understand this better please.
