Upcoming Coffeescript Course

Guil Hernandez and team,

I'm not sure how much of the content you've produced for the Coffeescript course, but if you're still in the early stages, it may be worth reconsidering an alternative flavor of Javascript. While this survey isn't comprehensive and reflective of the entire JS/Frontend Community, I think that it would provide a pretty strong argument for Typescript or a similar flavor. It just feels like Coffeescript is on its way out, and Typescript has the support from Microsoft, the Angular community, and a lot of others, making it a much more useful skill for the future. Let me know what you think!

Thanks, Stephen

Have you seen this currently available workshop: Getting Started with TypeScript?

Hi Steven Parker, I was raising this concern more for other learners in the community. I have seen that workshop, but courses typically go more in-depth and offer interactive testing that facilitates learning. Obviously, you can't go back in time, but I feel that Coffeescript would have been better as a workshop, and TypeScript as a course for helping students learn a more future-proof skill.

Thanks, Stephen

I must agree. To be honest it feels like a waste releasing a CoffeeScript course now. Way to late. A proper TypeScript course or perhaps being real edgy with a http://elm-lang.org/ course.

But really, Treehouse courses are precious diamonds and quality takes time, so even tho i know this course will be awesome, it is a waste really. Way to late Treehouse :(

If you still can, change it to a workshop like OP suggested.
