Hi, I was nearly finished with the original CSS track i was on, then i decided to update it and its taken me back to CSS basics. Do i need to redo the course ?

You shouldn't have to redo a course. If it is asking you to do it it is probably a new course! I really enjoyed the CSS basics course so have fun.

Yeah it was CSS foundations that i was nearly finish and looks like CSS basics is a new course, its just doing stuff that i've already covered though. But I guess a refresh is not a bad thing at the end of the day.
