1,757 PointsUpgrading to Treehouse Pro - Workspaces
Hi all,
I'm considering upgrading to Treehouse Pro, primarily for offline access to the videos. But am I able to use Workspaces offline? Or would I need to use an external editor of some sort instead?
Those already using Pro. do you think the upgrade is worthwhile?
Thanks!

Both the Basic and the Pro offer offline access to the videos. They just need to be downloaded either with the link under the video being played, or by using iTunes from the course description page.
However, while you are on the 14-day free trial, the videos are NOT available for download.
As for Workspaces, it can only be used while you are logged into Treehouse. You would need a stand-alone text editor. There are some free ones out there and some you have to pay for. I personally use Sublime Text 2 or Brackets. Atom is also popular. My favorite, though, is Sublime.
Whether or not the upgrade from Basic to Pro is worth is really a subjective question. It all depends on what you want out of your time here with Treehouse and your personal budget. Basic gives you access to the courses, but Pro gives you access to much more content (Workshops, conferences, etc). You can always upgrade/downgrade as you progress, so it's really a personal choice.
Good Luck with your journey and Keep Coding! :)
