URL Structuring for Different Audiences

I am wanting to get some input on your thoughts of Website URL Structures especially when you have completely two different audiences.

For My Instances:

I am real estate brokerage company so the foremost the perspective user is an audience of

  1. Real Estate Buyer and Sellers
  2. Real Estate Agents Recruitment.

I am currently on multisite wordpress install but curious what your thoughts on separating content based on audiences

I think you have to set some base assumptions for a discussion like this since different people will have different beliefs on how URL's should be structured. My belief is that URL's have very little value when it comes to SEO, and should be structured to be user friendly (short and readable) and have a proper permalink paradigm (ie urls's are appropriately structured so that they will never have to change, regardless of what platform or CMS is used in future site updates).

I like to see urls like this:

househunters123.com/house/23799

So short and sweet that you could even describe the URL over the phone if you wanted to. I really dislike URL's that contain entire article titles and other verbose strings.

Those are my initial thoughts but to be honest I don't fully understand your question. Why do you think different user groups would need different URL structures?

Thanks for you feedback. I total agree to with you make sure of short and sweet.

I am Real Estate Brokerage Firm so Real Estate Buyers and Sellers is the focal point of the main site with Home Search, Neighborhood Information, FAQ's/Knowledge Base , Blog/News- Tips, Local Happenings. --Content Geared to the General Public

The other part of the element though: Careers as Agent: Recruitment, Work Culture, Benefits & the other part is News/Blog Geared to Real Estate Agents on Business, Sales, Tech & Marketing Tips, Industry News,
