Usage of F

So we want to update some attribute,why can we just type:

some_object.attribute+=1

What is the advantage of F?

If you are trying to update more than one object at a time, you would either have to do this...

for some_object in SomeObject.objects.all():
    some_object.attribute += 1
    some_object.save()

... or you could just do this...

SomeObject.objects.all().update(attribute=F('attribute') + 1)

... which according to the documentation has some performance advantages.
