Use of undeclared identifier "self"

This code does not work in the code challenge of stage 5 in the crystal ball app // The following code is excerpted from // the viewDidLoad method of THViewController.m

// Fix the code below
// Hint: First create an instance of UIImage

UIImage *background = [UIImage imageNamed: @"background"];
UIImageView *imageView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:background];
[self.view insertSubview:imageView atIndex:0];

The code challenge is asking you to fix the existing problem with the statement by declaring a UIImage object which you did by declaring background. That is all that you need to do. There is no need for the last statement where you insert a subview.
