Using the MapBox Directions API in Meteor JS

This is to help with a personal project.

I'm looking to use MapBox's mapping data & Directions API. In the Directions API documentation, the example JavaScript request clearly says:

// This API is not available through the JavaScript SDK

So, stupid question time:

Does that mean there is no way for me to use this API if I build my application using Meteor JS? Is there a work around? Or is it a no-go?
