using workspaces in google chrome

When I use google chrome to work in workspaces and try to view my work it does not open in a separate tab. Then I have to go back to workspace and re-open my project. Is this some bug or am I not getting something?

Usually it's suppose to open in a different tab, but you can also just hold down command then click
