Hey everyone. I'm a Multimedia Technology student and have been doing web design/development, programming and various other media related topics for over 3 years now. My main interest lies in web design/development but I've also touched on doing some video editing/motion graphics stuff in the past.
I've been really eager recently to get into video editing alot more and was just wondering if anyone knew if Treehouse has any intention of creating any video editing, motion graphics and/or visual effects courses in the future, and if this would be something that other people would be interested in aswell?

3,828 PointsI would definitely be interested in topics such as this and flash. Interactive media is still a big part of the web.

12,216 Pointsfxphd is expensive but it's the gold standard for VFX and motion graphics training. The depth of the VFX courses is insane. I can personally recommend the courses. I went to school for VFX and I still learned a whole lot from the more advanced courses.

11,311 PointsYeah definitely, although flash isn't as prominent as it once was, you can still create some pretty amazing stuff with it. Flash and ActionScript 3 are really powerful for creating engaging products such as games. I created a game in Flash for one of my 3rd years modules at uni this year to promote a new brand of chocolate bar and was really pleased with the end result.
I think video editing courses on Treehouse would be amazing and something that I'd really look forward to seeing. My passion is web design & development but I'd also love to work with video, even if it is just for a hobby or some freelance work. I can spend hours watching kinetic typography videos on Vimeo and YouTube wishing I could create something similar. If you get the chance, check out some of the motion graphics videos if you haven't already. It's such a great medium of telling a story and keeping a user engaged to deliver a message. One of my favourites is - https://vimeo.com/14040516.
Anyway i'm rambling on a bit lol, thanks for the reply.

12,216 PointsCheck out Creative Cloud's "Edge Animate". It's Flash like but uses HTML and Javascript so the animations will work in mobile browsers. I haven't used it so I'm not sure how much of the functionality of Flash it maintains but if you're going to use your stuff on the web it's definitely worth a look.
