9,701 PointsVideos freezing in Chrome and Firefox for past two weeks
Has anyone else been having issues? I know this has been an issue in the past with Chrome, but's it's never been to the point where I simply can't watch anything without it freezing for minutes at a time? Different computers, different browsers, incognito window, using the Flash setting link. Nothing is working :(

Courses Plus Student 4,329 PointsVideos freeze for me as well in Chrome, but i just note where the progress bar is, hit F5 and click the progress bar back to where I was. Doesn't usually happen unless I am pausing the video alot or leave the video paused for a few minutes.

1,015 PointsIt happened to me so often that changed to IE10. I have discovered that the progress bar disappears in IE10 and not in Chrome, useful as usually text is written in the lower part of the video.

20,160 PointsI have been experiencing the same problem in chrome. I wasn't having the problem before, but when I "refreshed" my computer by deleting all the programs and reinstalled Chrome, the progress bar started sticking. However, like you say, it doesn't happen in IE. But I had another issue in IE where I was trying to adjust my "track schedule" and that wasn't working in IE. I'm not an expert in computers so I don't always know if the issue is with my own computer or with the website.

1,927 PointsAimiee, how's your connection speed? I'm curious to know what speedtest.net says? One alternative might be to download the videos?

James Barnett
39,199 Points@Aimee - Can you also post your results from pingtest.net

Jon Thomas
8,916 PointsYea, really unfortunate. I just joined and this is the only thing I've experienced so far. Constantly have to refresh.

Christopher Peters
1,927 PointsHi Jon! I'm really sorry that it's giving you trouble! Are you using Chrome, Firefox or another browser? Could you try a different browser to see if you get any better luck? Also, if you wouldn't mind shooting a quick email to: help@teamtreehouse.com they're really good at getting these problems sorted out quick!

James Barnett
39,199 Points@Jon -
Here are a few things to try.
You can change your setting in Treehouse to use Flash-based video instead of HTML5
If that doesn't work, it could be an issue with one of your extensions, here are few things you can do to try and narrow down the issue:
- Try incognito mode
- Try a different browser
- Try a different computer

9,701 PointsOddly enough it's working fine today.

James Barnett
39,199 Points@Aimee - Seeing as you see the issue on all computers, but only some days. That sounds suspciously like internet connection issue. Next time you have an issue go to pingtest.net and post the results in this thread.

Aimee Knight
9,701 Points@James... haven't been able to watch anything again tonight. Ran the ping test and it came back with a B. Is that really poor enough that I should be having such a sever problem?

James Barnett
39,199 Points@Aimee - What about the results from speedtest.net?

Aimee Knight
9,701 Points@James, download speed was 6.93Mbps and upload was speed 3.38Mbps. Ping was 54ms.

39,199 Points@Aimee - I'd get the results from pingtest.net & speedtest.net and email them to help@teamtreehouse.com. Also mention all of troubleshooting you previously mentioned in your first post.

James Barnett
39,199 Points@Aimee - Going out on a limb here, but are the results of speedtest.net & pingtest.net the same in Chrome, IE & Firefox?

Christopher Peters
1,927 Points@Aimee, that speed and ping level shouldn't be causing a problem with the videos. Please email help@teamtreehouse.com, for support. They're quick and very helpful! Also, referring them to this thread will be helpful. So sorry you've been having issues! One temporary fix may be to go to Library >> download feed. This will download all videos to iTunes, not perfect, but would fix the issues temporarily.
