view property of UIViewController

Question on the basics: Is view a property of the class UIViewcontroller? If so, when we have a line such as view.backgroundColor, is the backgroundColor a property of the property view?

1 Answer

Yes, you're right! view is a property of Viewcontroller, and backgroundColor is a property of View.

// So you can set it like this inside a viewcontroller
view.backgroundColor = UIColor.blueColor()

// or you can access it from another viewcontroller (i.e. prepare for segue)
segue.destinationViewController.view.backgroundColor = UIColor.blueColor()

Thanks Richard!
