Viewing my results from workspace

I am working on Windows 8.1 and whenever I attempt to view the result of my coding, I get a message that I may want to view my work in Explorer or notepad etc... After opening either one all I see is my coding. What should I do differently?

Did you click the eye button on workspaces to preview when you got this error? Or are you also using a custom text / code editor?
